In Gli ultimi istanti delle nostre vite precedenti (The last moments of our previous lives) the fears of Votto dance above piercing emo guitars and a screamo soul that push towards metal.

The album marks a new chapter in Votto's musical journey. Not a clean break from the past, as already stated in the title of the record, but a natural evolution towards more furious and visceral sounds. The album tackles three main themes: corporeality (feeling oneself and one's own viscera), otherness (alienation, the external body that decenters the self and triggers destruction), and fears (of not being able to flourish, of not being able to understand oneself, of no longer existing).

Gli ultimi istanti delle nostre vite precedenti works because it intercepts the dynamics of our time, inserting into the paradoxes of an increasingly violent world that shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, Votto's album echoes the song of a prophet announcing the beginning of the end: of foreign bodies that insinuate themselves and take our place, of parasitic entities that usurp our existence, of beasts that gorge themselves on our innards.

Altro da me (Other from me) track, in this regard, is the reference track: among all, the sweetest in sound, it explores the sensation of contracting a virus, without knowing if it comes from within or outside oneself. Hence the loss of bodily sensitivity that slowly slides towards the inability to connect with reality. The metamorphosis concludes in Fuoco autoalimentato, (fuel-fed fire) where the band slowly surrenders to the spectral drones of Rosapolvere and a final organ chord sealing the tomb of this now broken life.

After shaking up the screamo scene with their debut album Quindi noi sbagliando facemmo giusto (So we made right by wronging) with this new work, the band changes shape, awakening in a new black and sharp body. Gli ultimi istanti delle nostre vite precedenti due out on March 22, will be released in a limited vinyl edition by Non ti seguo Records.
