LAS VEGAS, NV - Rise Against headlined a pretty jam-packed line up on Saturday, October 17th at The Pearl Concert Hall at The Palms Casino and Resort. The Chicago area punk band known for such hits as "Savior", "Like The Angel" and "Prayer of the Refugee" (weird how I never noticed so much religion in their song titles), brought along fellow Chicagoans Alkaline Trio along with them on their nationwide tour. D.C.-area up and coming duo Teen Mortgage was the opening act as well.

TEEN MORTGAGE – Now I wasn’t aware there was another band playing besides Alkaline Trio and Rise Against. The band Teen Mortgage opened the show and I will be honest, I wasn’t expecting much with two members on the band and as they continued to play I progressively got hooked. They played one of their newer songs “Democracy Manifest” and I tell you, it is incredibly catchy with a reoccurring riff that is so groovy and punk.

After giving them a quick look up this is a band from Washington D.C with origins in the Maryland area as well. I was convinced this is a band from the United Kingdom as the lead singer James Guile carries a British accent, and to my surprise he lives here in the United States.

ALKALINE TRIO – I’m here to blow your mind and say that I have never truly took a deep dive into Alkaline Trio’s music but after their set, you have me starting from the very beginning of their discography. A long time ago in my high school years, my introduction to this band is a song called “I Found Away” from their 2008 “Agony & Irony” record. They did not play this song live but they did play “Radio” and wow I tell you what, I was all the way in the back watching the show after taking my photos and I can hear the crowd from the GA pit screaming the words back at them.

RISE AGAINST – There is a video on youtube called “Urban Ninja” with the song “Give It All” that was released 21 years ago on September 02, 2025. I discovered this video a couple years later after its release and that is my discovery of the band Rise Against. Their 17-song set list consists of absolute bangers like "Savior," "Prayer of the Refugee" and "Under the Knife."

Anyone is free to correct me if I am wrong but I believe lead singer Tim McIlrath brought out a megaphone during “Give It All” and then went off stage into the barricade screaming the lyrics at the crowd, it’s not often you see a headliner do such a thing and the crowd just absolutely swarms beneath him. We hope to see Rise Against back here in Las Vegas soon.
