The fury of Votto unfolds like the Möbius strip (Il Nastro di Möbius): an asymmetry between screamo and metal that bounces fears out of our bodies to graft them onto others.

Votto’s new single opens up with a barrage of drum and guitar shots, inaugurating the most overpowering sound the band has ever conceived so far. The deep void that grows inside us like a seed, is the matrix of all fears known to It infests my visions / Dictates what I would like."

The Möbius strip is a non-oriented, non-mirrorable surface, inclined towards unpredictability. Like the structure devised by the German mathematician from which it takes its name, the song also has an irregular structure that foreshadows two distinct moments. In the first part, the voice descends into the depths of one's own soul, face to face with paralyzing fear, searching for the source of one's own suffering. In the second part, however, the fear is extrapolated from the body and materializes in the figure of the other with whom it becomes increasingly difficult to establish a dialogue.

The unease sung by Votto hovers like a symbiont clinging to humans. Thus, at the moment when one interacts with the other, it is realized that one is facing the reflection of yet another subjugated man. Despite such infestation, the band glimpses life behind the phobia, following the asymmetric structure of the Möbius strip, a revealing tool for survival against the cry of the Piacenza-based group.

It is from the folds of irregular bodies that the new musical phase of Votto takes shape, arriving in 2024 ready to release the second album, characterized by a darker and more violent texture, set to be released on March 22 in a limited edition vinyl by Non ti seguo Records.
