Oglio Records Celebrates the 25th Anniversary of Brian Wilson: Live at the Roxy Theatre with Expanded Reissue

Historic 2000 Sunset Strip performances return November 7 on 3LP Box Set, 2CD Set, and Digital —

marking the album’s first-ever vinyl release.

"There's a refreshing lack of hubris and real sense of fun here, from faithful takes of "Good Vibrations" and "God Only Knows" to latter-day gems like "Lay Down Burden.""- Rolling Stone

"Live at the Roxy Theatre certainly boasts Beach Boys favorites, but it touches on all phases of Wilson's career, from the early surf music to the sophisticated compositions that made Pet Sounds a landmark, solo songs from the 1980s and '90s, and even a couple of new tunes and covers. With a strong band and an enthusiastic audience, performing some of the best compositions of his career. It makes both a good introduction to Wilson's work and a satisfying summation for longtime fans."- AllMusic

“...this box set is just one of so many examples of what there is to celebrate: an artist reborn, in the most unanticipated second act of a career that had already made him a living legend."- David Leaf

Los Angeles, CA — Oglio Records is proud to announce the 25th anniversary reissue of Brian Wilson: Live at the Roxy Theatre, available November 7, 2025, on 3LP Box Set, 2CD Set, and Digital. This marks the first time the landmark live album will be available on vinyl.

Recorded across two unforgettable, sold-out nights in April 2000 at West Hollywood’s legendary Roxy Theatre, the album captured a once-in-a-lifetime moment: Brian Wilson, the genius co-founder of the Beach Boys, stepping onto a Sunset Strip stage for the first time in three decades.

Originally released in 2000, Live at the Roxy Theatre was Brian’s first-ever live solo album, showcasing the magic of his timeless catalog performed in an intimate setting. Backed by his stellar ten-piece band, including the five-member group the Wondermints, Wilson delivered beloved Beach Boys classics like “California Girls,” “Surfer Girl,” “I Get Around,” and “Good Vibrations” alongside two new originals—“The First Time” and “This Isn’t Love.”

The new reissue not only revisits that landmark moment—it greatly expands upon it, with newly unearthed performances and tour recordings, as well as a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse of Brian reflecting on the making of the record, broadening the scope of this historic era in Wilson’s return to the stage.

The reissue arrives with new liner notes by acclaimed writer and longtime Wilson collaborator David Leaf, who places these historic concerts in the wider arc of Brian’s remarkable late-career resurgence. Leaf recalls in his 2000 notes that the Roxy shows drew fans from across the globe—“It was like a Star Trek convention but with Hawaiian shirts instead of Spock ears”—and that the room itself was filled with both ecstatic diehards and stars like Patti Smith, Lindsey Buckingham, Jon Bon Jovi, and Bette Midler, all eager to witness Brian’s triumphant return to the stage.

In his newly written 2025 reflections, Leaf adds:

“When I wrote the liner notes for the original Live at the Roxy CD, I closed by saying ‘It doesn’t get any better.’ How wrong I was. Those nights on the Sunset Strip turned out to be the beginning of Brian’s great second act—a run of miracles that gave us Pet Sounds Live, SMiLE, That Lucky Old Sun, and more. Looking back now, it’s clear: the Roxy was where Brian’s rebirth as a performer truly came alive.”

Oglio Records founder Carl Caprioglio reflects:

“When Oglio first released Live at the Roxy Theatre in 2001, I could never have imagined the role this album would play in honoring Brian’s extraordinary legacy. With Brian’s passing this year, this 25th Anniversary Edition is not just a reissue — it’s a heartfelt tribute to his artistry, his kindness, and the timeless music he shared with us.”
