LAS VEGAS, NV -- On March, 12, 2023 at The Usual Place in Las Vegas we were treated to the enigmatic experience that is The Legendary Shack Shakers.

With a sound that blends, in my opinion, blues, country, bluegrass and good old fashioned rock and roll the venue explodes with energy. Charismatic front man, J.D. Wilkes immediately grabs your attention and draws you in. Before you know it you find yourself enveloped in the captivating rhythm.

They are a band that never disappoints and is always guaranteed to be a good time. Don’t deny yourself the chance to catch them next time you’re able. Whether you are into country, blues or rock and roll I feel that you can’t go wrong with The Legendary Shack Shakers.

I will also add that J.D. Wilkes is one of the nicest and down-to-earth musicians I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. I was fortunate enough to have a few fairly mundane conversations with him throughout the night. For me personally it means a lot just to have a good conversation.

I hope to one day further pick the brain of one J.D. Wilkes. Who knows….maybe he can give me some pointers on learning to play the harmonica.
