St. Louis punk rockers Wes Hoffman and Friends are back with a vengeance. The band’s new single, “After Hours,” drops today and signals a bold new chapter as the group’s first release via SBAM Records. The track comes ahead of their forthcoming sophomore LP, For the Better, due out later this year.
Produced and engineered by Gabe Usery at Encapsulated Studios , “After Hours” captures the band’s signature mix of heart-on-sleeve lyrics and blistering punk energy. Mixing duties were handled by Trevor Reilly of A Wilhelm Scream at Anchor End Studios in Massachusetts, while mastering was completed by Trevor’s father, Joe Reilly, at Black and Blue Mastering, making this a true punk rock family affair.
What started as a passion project for Wes Hoffman (vocals/guitar) and Jacob Boyd (bass) has now evolved into a fully dialed-in lineup with Luca Torretta on guitar and Hes Retnu on drums. With this lineup firing on all cylinders, “After Hours” showcases a band fully in its stride — raw, melodic, and emotionally charged.
This new track follows up the band’s 2024 debut full-length How It Should Be (Jump Start Records) and marks their evolution in both sound and direction. It’s a fierce preview of what’s to come on For the Better — a record that promises to push the band’s sound further than ever before.
A brand new music video for “After Hours” is also out now. Check it out and stay tuned for more from Wes Hoffman and Friends as they gear up for an exciting year ahead.
